Arts for Girls Initiative- AGI is aimed at enhancing decent employment for 80 girls and young women through improved job skills, access to resources, networks and advocacy in Kampala and Wakiso districts. AGI equips the 80 girls and young women organized into three collectives with vocational skills in arts based enterprises as well as using art for advocacy. AGI mainly works with girls and young women in informal employment, young mothers, both in and out of school, young women with disabilities to create enterprises for income and emotional well-being
SARI conducts sessions in Arts and design, and performance arts as well as support participants with start-up kits/capital for enterprise development. They are further trained in life skills such as entrepreneurship, communication, marketing, presentation, records keeping, savings mobilization, leadership, business registration, body integrity and among others. Participants form groups through which they learn, save and support each. AGI is being implemented in partnership with Jambo Foundation (2023).
