Dance speaks so many languages and yet all so universal. Dance collected us as young people to amplify issues of child marriage, teenage pregnancy, HIV prevention, and safety from violence and harm. Dance was our safe space where we could fearlessly share our experiences and dare to lift our voices against gender and power-driven inequalities, especially against girls and young women. Over 120 young people were involved in 3 dance campaigns reaching at least 250 people in our community.
We also used dance for our spiritual nurture. And yes, with our dance we heal, we are restored, we speak the same language of the economic and social transformation of young people.
As we say, "The very Spirit of dance is the movement towards the change we seek."
